Otaku Evolution Episode 91 - Mobile Suit Gundam III (Movie)

Live (taped) from a secluded Antarctic base's officer's club, it's my review of the final movie in the original Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy! Featuring state-of-the-art animation techniques (lol) and all-star cast of nobodies! I talk a bit about Newtypes, call out Sayla Mass for her lack of awareness, show a mess of clips from the Gundam franchise, all of which I had to shorten frustratingly, and actually utilize more than two sound effects! So strap into your mobile suits and step onto the launch platform, it's time to finish off the One Year War!

Reconguista in G: What's going on? A general summary of the universe

Been watching Reconguistia in G lately? Well, you should, if only for the great animation and fights. If you are, do you know what's going on? Let's just say "easy to follow" isn't exactly a common descriptor. Tomino's break-neck pacing and sporadic exposition haven't made the picture clear for a lot of folks. If you've seen Turn A, it's a lot like that, just turned up to 11.

Hell, I barely have a grasp of what's going on and that seems to fly out the window with the start of each episode. Hopefully this will help clear things up a bit...

Gundam: Reconguista in G Trailer

I still can't get a good grip on this yet. I might have to wait for at least the first few episodes. It's Tomino, so t can go right or really, really wrong. Also, the G-Serufu looks like Gundam Exia by way of Victory Gundam. It's like the TOMY version of Exia. Should I review it for my blog or what? (How do you pronounce the title, even?)

Anime Classics - Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack

Yoshiyuki Tomino isn't for everyone. The anime director and creator of the Gundam franchise is a bit of an odd duck. It's hard to get a good snapshot of his personality, both in direction and in life. I'm guessing that a lot of this has to do with his long history in the business. After a while, a guy's got to get tired of answering the same five or six questions about the same thing, no matter how much they've prospered from it. Then there's his style of directing, wherein he refuses to hold the hand of the viewer. A plot may be pretty straight forward, but his approach to it in directing may leave some scratching their heads.
