Rants & Raves

You know those shitty "Movie" movies?

(No, I'm not joking. It's a real movie.) Well if this sounds like you, and I know it does, I've got some awesome information for you! Dear Firefod design developers...

I'm sorry but the default Mac theme for Firefox 3?
Click for Larger
It's absolute rubbish. The old default theme for FF2 was a lot better. According to FF's website... """Platform-Native Look & Feel The new Firefox looks and feels like home. Think of it as a Firefox who’s really good at making friends. Whether you use Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac or Linux, the browser seamlessly integrates into your computer’s environment. A native look makes for a flawless interface that never gives you pause.""""" That's just awful. I don't want Firefox to look like the rest of Finder's gray gradients. Maybe if it were just one, okay. But I'm looking at at least four different ones right now. WTF....a;foiasd;fohas;kdhfklasdhfklashf I need another beer.

FOX rips off Cover Flow

Less than half an hour ago I sat down to catch some classic Simpsons, particularly Radio Bart, the one where Bart ticked Springfield about a boy being stuck in a well, later to fall in himself. During an early commercial break I noticed something familiar, Apple's Cover Flow. However to my surprise it wasn't yet another cheesy Mac ad, but a commercial for the local FOX 5 News...

Experience you say?

Disclaimer: I apologize for all the links and facts...it's just information to support my point.

First of all…WAY TO GO OBAMA!

That’s right! Obama has officially secured the amount of delegates necessary to be the 2008 Democratic Nominee for President. After 52 primaries the Democratic Party can now, hopefully (and in theory), unite together and work towards winning in November.

This morning, I was watching a clip on YouTube of Barack Obama’s victory speech from Minnesota. While watching I scrolled down and read some comments STILL about Obama’s “inexperience.” Now I don’t know people’s party affiliation (not that there is a huge difference between Republicans and Democrats in the grand scheme of things), but when people talk about Obama’s “inexperience” I get pretty flustered. AND I turn to looking at the FACTS…

College kid gets screwed again!

A week or so ago my parents opened up their mailbox to find a check for $1,200 - meet their "economic stimulus" package from the government. Now that's all good and well for my parents, they could use an extra $1,200 for all the home remodeling they want to do around the house; but, where's my stimulus package?

I have a Social Security Number, an income higher than $3,000 and I filed a tax return. Those are the main three conditions on the Internal Revenue Services main page about the stimulus package. BUT...read the fine print and no such economic luck for this 21 year old college student because my parents can claim (and do claim) me as a dependent!

Sexism and Hillary Clinton...please

Disclaimer: Yes I know the following information is out of date and Obama has secured the nomination. Yes, this is a political rant and rave. No, I am not some sort of expert of politics nor do I think I am. With that said...This was a blog post that I had on another site from May 22, but I felt like sharing it, because it's my account and I can do that.

Who will go up against John McCain in November? The answer to this question seems close at hand. According to CNN (as of Thursday May 22, 2008), Barack Obama now leads the total delegate count with 1,962 delegates; leaving 1,777 for the Senator from New York – Hillary Clinton. This is a substantial lead for Obama with the Democratic National Convention inching ever closer. However, as the end draws near the Clinton campaign has turned up the whining – in true female style.

Gundam SEED Was Never Good Part II: Coordinators Suck Ass

Another thing occured to me as I thought about how bad the CE era programs of Gundam were. Despite being the targets of discrimination and possible genoicide, Coordinators are utterly unsympathetic.

Think about what a Coordinator is. No, let's think about what it is not. It isn't the same as a Newytpe. You can't MAKE a Newtype. Best you can do is an artificial Newtype ("Cyber-Newtype"), and they're usually unstable fuckwits like Four Murasame or Rosamia Badam. No, you can't make a Newtype. Newtypes are supposed to be the natural evolution of mankind. Coordinators may have increased spatial awareness at times, but they aren't the progression of mankind's evolution.

Megacon 2008 Report

So I went to Megacon this year for three days of fun and excitement. Though not all was fun and excitement. Now, I've been to different sorts of conventions before. Some were huge (Otakon), and some were small (MTAC). With that said, my impression of Megacon was more of a middle-con. It took place it a fairly big size area convention center, and housed a large populace, especially on Saturday. The dealers room was actually pretty massive though, but as far as events went, I found myself bored more often than not. Hell, I left at six o'clock...on a SATURDAY. Isn't Saturday night when everything cool is supposed to happen? On Friday we got there at 11-ish, and we were in what was thought to be the second panel of the day, but in reality no panels actually happened until 1pm? What a joke. I'm not trying to convey that I didn't have fun.

Gentlemen.

How are you gentlemen?

Gentlemen, I like Pokémon.
Gentlemen, I like Pokémon.

Gentlemen, I love Pokémon.

I like Turtwig.
I liek Mudkips (who doesn't?).
I like aggresive Pokémon.
I like defensive Pokémon.

In fields, on bicycle roads, in caves, on tundra, in desert, on sea, in sky, in mud, in abandoned power plants.

I like single battles, I like earning money. I like withdrawing, I like changing up. I like running away from wild Pokémon too strong for my newbies. I love every aspect of Pokémon, save for the cartoon past the first season, or the puzzle games.

I like blowing away the Bug-Types with Thunder.

When an enemy loses all his HP, my heart dances.

I like crushing the enemy Pokémon with the Blastoise saved in my Silver game.

When I mowed down the Elite Four, who fled screaming from their headquarters, with a team of level 100 Pokémon, my heart leapt.

ApctConnect is a tad Ridiculous

The other day I found a little notice stuff in my apartment door. It was information to sign up with AptConnect.com. A website that apparently serves as a fun little online social community when a real life community is too lazy to communicate between their apartment door and car. Okay, no, I don't know anyone who lives here. Irregardless, AptConnect wanted to get to know me. Nothing wrong with that in theory... well let's just say that their survey process needs a bit of work... If you have interested, check here. If not, select the things you're not interested in below. Money & Investing, interest. Networking, interest. Electronics, interest. Sedans? Non-interest.
I love playing X Games!
